Police said the 1-year-old suffered "severe" injuries and is now confined at the hospital.

CLEVELAND — A 1-year-old child was hurt in a suspected drunken driving accident on Sunday in Cleveland, police said.

At noon, there was a car accident near E. 124th and Farringdon Avenue. Crews had to carefully pull a woman out of a car. The woman had a broken femur, police said. Crews then found the 1-year-old and rushed the child to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. Both people suffered severe injuries, according to Cleveland police.

Investigators learned the woman was driving, with the 1-year-old in the car, when a possibly intoxicated man blew past a stop sign and hit their car.
