100 Pounds Of Marijuana, $1 Million Seized In FBI Ohio Drug Raid

The interstate ring had drug houses in Chicago, Illinois and North Olmsted, Ohio, the FBI said.

CLEVELAND, OH — Three men have been arrested for intention to distribute more than 100 pounds of marijuana, the FBI and United States Attorney's Office announced Tuesday. Federal agents also seized more than $1 million from drug houses in North Olmsted and Chicago.

Amer Jabir, 27, Ahmad Jabir, 23, and Aymen Abdelrahim, 28, were taken into custody on Tuesday without incident. All three men have homes in Cleveland. Amer Jabir also has homes in Chicago and Weelawken, New Jersey.

Amer Jabir allegedly transported large quantities of weed from California to Chicago. He would then distribute some of the marijuana in Chicago before moving the remaining supply to Cleveland and Detroit, where it was moved to his customers.

Ahmad Jabir and Abdelrahim are accused of working as Amer's distributors and delivery runners in Cleveland. The FBI said it has records of conversations between the men saying they were selling numerous pounds of marijuana and hundreds of pills at a time. They frequently received thousands of dollars in exchange, the agency said.

The arrests were carried out on Tuesday morning at about 8 a.m. Amer was arrested in Chicago, the other two men were taken into custody in the Cleveland area. The men have been charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and conspiring to distribute marijuana. Ahman Jabir and Aymen Abdelrahhim are also charged with possession with intent to distribute controlled narcotics (Oxycodone).

After arresting the three men, agents seized more than 100 pounds of marijuana and more than $1 million in cash from locations in Chicago and North Olmsted, the FBI said.

This is the second large drug bust announced by the FBI this week. On Monday, the FBI and DOJ announced that 13 people had been arrested for allegedly bringing hundreds of pounds of cocaine into Northeast Ohio, the Department of Justice announced on Monday.

When police arrested the suspects, they also seized 17 firearms, nearly 1,500 rounds of ammunition, approximately $592,579 in cash, more than 13 kilograms of cocaine, more than 22 kilograms of marijuana as well as heroin and crystal methamphetamine as part of the investigation.
