26-Year-Old Gunned Down At Cleveland Gas Station

Police said a 26-year-old man was shot multiple times at an east side gas station on Thursday night.

CLEVELAND — Shortly before midnight, a 26-year-old man was shot to death near a Cleveland gas station. Investigators believe a fight may prompted the shooting.

At 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, callers reported a shooting at the Sunoco Gas Station in the 4000 block of E. 131st Street. When officers arrived they found a 26-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds in the gas station parking lot.

EMS arrived and pronounced the man dead on the scene.

Witnesses told police the 26-year-old was in a fight before the shooting. The brawl happened at another location near the gas station. Police believe the fight may have precipitated the shooting.

Police did not provide a description of the suspect, but the shooter may have been driving a white car, possibly a Buick LeSabre.

Members of the Cleveland police homicide unit and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office were called to the gas station to aid the investigation. The case remains open and police are not releasing further details at this time.
