28-Year-Old Dies After Being Shot In Cleveland

Police said the man was shot on May 7. He died from his injuries on Monday.

CLEVELAND — A 28-year-old man shot in Cleveland on May 7 has died from his injuries, police announced on Monday night. The Cleveland police homicide unit will now investigate the man's death.

On May 7, at 9:45 p.m., a citizen flagged down passing police on E. 143. The citizen said a person had been shot.

Officers investigated and found the 28-year-old inside a car with gunshot wounds. He didn't answer when police tried to speak to him.

Police broke the windows of the car and gave the man first aid. EMS then took the man to University Hospitals for treatment. He died from his injuries on May 11.

The Cleveland police homicide unit will take over investigation into the man's shooting.
