3 Inches Of Snow Possible Through Thursday In Cleveland

The snow belt and lake effect regions could see additional snowfall during the week.

Up to 3 inches of snow could fall through Thursday in Northeast Ohio. The snowfall could be higher in the snow belt and areas prone to lake effect snow.

"Lake effect snow will develop today over northeast Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania. While the highest snow accumulations are expected in the favored higher terrain, light snow accumulations are expected in the lakeshore and secondary snow belt areas through Thursday evening," the National Weather Service said on Wednesday.

Most of Wednesday's snow should fall before 1 p.m. The snow will then pick-up again late on Wednesday night and into Thursday evening, with 1.5 inches possible through 9 a.m. Thursday.

Temperatures will drop into the high 20s and low 30s through the end of the week. The cold weather will be dry until Saturday, when the snow could return again. It's not yet clear how much accumulation to expect, but there's a 50 percent chance of snow over the weekend.
