NEW ALBANY, OH — A Bloomberg report identified the 100 richest towns in America, and three Ohio cities made the cut. The report based its assessment on household income, and the top towns in America have households that earn more than $300,000 a year.

Indian Hill, Pepper Pike and New Albany are all suburbs (or, more accurately, exurbs) of major Ohio cities: Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus, respectively. However, Hamilton, Franklin and Cuyahoga counties are not Ohio's wealthiest counties. That honor falls to Delaware County, according to 24/7 Wall Street, where the average household pulls in $104,322 a year.

The richest towns in America are Atherton, Calif., with a household income that exceeds a half-million dollars, followed by Scarsdale, N.Y., with $452, 041. They were followed by Hillsborough, Calif., Cherry Hills Village, Colo., Los Altos Hills, Calif. and then Short Hills.
The report stands in contrast to a recent study analyzing the wealthiest counties around the country.
