39-Year-Old Shot To Death On Cleveland's East Side

Police said they were investigating a car crash when they heard gunshots ring out.

CLEVELAND — A 39-year-old man was found shot to death on Cleveland's east side on Thursday night. Police said the man's body was found near E. 140th and Kinsman Road at 11 p.m.

Officers were investigating a car crash on Kinsman when they heard shots fired. Police drove toward the sound of gunshots and saw multiple cars speeding away. The 39-year-old's body was spotted on the ground.

The man had been shot multiple times. Police gave the man first aid until EMS arrived. He was then taken to University Hospitals where he was later pronounced dead.

Witnesses told police the 39-year-old and another person were seen in the parking lot of a gas station. The two arrived at the parking lot in different cars. The unidentified person then shot the 39-year-old and drove off in a bronze Buick Regal.

Cleveland police said the Buick was later found crashed into a tree on Melzer. A gun was found in the car.

No arrests have yet been made in this case. Detectives continue to investigate the shooting.
