4 Shootings Thursday In Cleveland, 1 Killed

One victim was shot six times but managed to survive.

CLEVELAND, OH — At least four people were shot Thursday in Cleveland. One of the wounded would later die from their injuries, police said.

At about 3:30 p.m., police received reports of that a man had been shot on Quincy Avenue. Officers found the 32-year-old victim, with multiple gunshot wounds, and gave him first aid until EMS arrived. The man eventually died on the scene.

Police later learned that a vehicle had entered the parking lot where the man was found, someone got out of the car, approached the victim, and fired multiple shots before fleeing.

At about 5 p.m., callers reported another man had been shot, this time on Imperial Avenue. The man was found sitting near a car. He told police had been sitting inside his vehicle, with three children in the backseat, when he was shot at by people inside a silver Toyota. The man had a bullet graze his upper rib cage, on the left side of his body.

The vehicle was last seen going west on Imperial. The children in the car were not injured.

Callers then reported shots fired near E. 90th and St. Clair at about 7:40 p.m. Officers rushed to the area and found one person wounded. Police gave the person first aid until EMS arrived and took the person to University Hospitals. The victim had been shot six times.

Finally, at 9:30 p.m., police were called to St. Vincent Charity Hospital for reports of an assault victim. The woman told officers that she had gone to an address on E. 86th to collect a debt. She got into an argument with a person at the scene. The two were separated by the victim's ex-boyfriend. The ex allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the woman with it.

When the victim fell to the ground after being shot, the man reportedly shot her a second time, hitting her knee. The man then ran out of the house.
