40-Year-Old Shot To Death During Possible Break-In In Cleveland

Police believe the man may have broken into a home in Cleveland and was then shot to death.

CLEVELAND — A 40-year-old man was shot to death in a home on Tuesday morning, Cleveland police announced.

At 9:20 a.m., officers were called to E. 137th Street to investigate a shooting. They found the 40-year-old man inside the home, with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.

EMS took the man to University Hospitals, where he was later pronounced dead.

Witnesses said the man broke into the house and was then shot by the resident. The resident turned himself into police later, was interviewed and then released.

Officers believe the 40-year-old used to live in the home on E. 137th Street, but has no relationship with the current resident.

Police said they are still investigating the shooting.
