46-Year-Old Killed During Mugging In Cleveland

Police believe the man was attacked, robbed and then shot multiple times.

CLEVELAND — A 46-year-old man was killed during a suspected mugging in Cleveland, police announced.

On Monday evening, callers heard gunshots on the 2200 block of E. 71st Street. When police arrived, they found a 46-year-old man lying in the street. He had been shot multiple times.

Officers gave the man first aid until EMS arrived and took him to University Hospitals. Doctors later pronounced the man dead.

Investigators believe the man was walking to his car when two people jumped out and attacked him. One of the attackers pulled out a gun and pointed it at the man while his partner stole the man's property and car.

One of the suspects then shot the 46-year-old.

No arrests have yet been made in this case.
