53-Year-Old Woman Killed In Car Accident In Cleveland

The woman's Hyundai Sonata hit a bridge pillar. She was declared dead at the site of the crash.

CLEVELAND — A 53-year-old Cleveland woman was killed in a car accident on Thursday night, Cleveland police announced. The woman was pronounced dead at the site of the crash.

Police said the accident happened at 11:30 p.m. near Fulton Road and Vega Avenue. While trying to turn her Hyundai Sonata onto Vega, the woman's car spun out of control on the snow-covered road.

The Sonata went drifted over the middle of the road, over a curb, hit a no parking sign and then crashed into a bridge pillar. The driver was declared dead at the scene.

A passenger in the car was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center with broken ribs, a police spokesperson said.
