55-Year-Old Shot To Death Near Detroit-Shoreway Neighborhood
Cleveland Police said the man was found on a sidewalk on Colgate Avenue. He had a gunshot wound to his stomach.

CLEVELAND — A 55-year-old man was found shot to death near the Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood on early Wednesday. The man was found bleeding on a sidewalk outside an abandoned home on Colgate Avenue.
Callers reported hearing gunshots at 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Officers went to the area and found the 55-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his stomach. Police assisted him until EMS arrived and took him to MetroHealth.
The man later passed away at the hospital, police said. A suspect in the man's killing has not yet been identified.

Investigators learned the man was killed outside of an abandoned home in the 7200 block of Colgate Avenue. Nearby residents heard the gunshots that killed the 55-year-old and called police.
Members of the homicide unit were called to the scene, along with the Cuyahoga Count Medical Examiner's Office. The matter remains under investigation.
