CLEVELAND — A baby and a pregnant woman were injured in a shooting in Cleveland on Saturday, according to police. Police are now trying to identify the man involved in the shooting.

At 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, a 6-month-old baby and a pregnant woman were both hurt in the shooting on Cleveland's east side. The child was hit in the back and the woman was hit in the leg, according to police reports.

Neither injury is considered life threatening, a police spokesperson said.

Investigators believe the shooting stems from an incident at an east side gas station. Surveillance footage shows a man park a Trail Blazer at a pump and head inside the store.

Another man then approaches the Trail Blazer and begins talking to the pregnant woman and child, who are inside the SUV. The driver of the Trail Blazer then returns and drives off. His vehicle is followed closely by a large black truck, police said.

The driver of the Trail Blazer told police he went to another store to buy food. He got back into his SUV and began driving. The black truck then cut him off and began shooting into the Trail Blazer.

On Monday, Cleveland police released surveillance footage of the truck and a man involved in the incident. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact police at 216-623-5418.
