6 Shootings In 9 Hours In Cleveland This Weekend

CLEVELAND — There were at least six shootings in Cleveland on Saturday, according to police records. The violence started at midnight and continued through the evening.

At midnight, on W. 150th and Puritas Ave., a 46-year-old man was shot in his arm and leg. He too was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center.

At 3 a.m., an 18-year-old was shot in his right leg, but suffered only a flesh wound, police said. The teenager was treated at South Pointe Hospital. The shooting happened on Payne Ave.

A 34-year-old man arrived at the Cleveland Clinic on Cedar at 5 a.m. He had been shot in the leg. He told police he was shot on E. 105th and Gooding.

At 6 a.m., on E. 144th, a 26-year-old man was shot in his lower left leg, police said. The man was taken to South Pointe Hospital for treatment.

At 9 a.m., a shooting happened near a hotel at Cleveland Hopkins airport. Police said a man was shot in his leg and hip and was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment.

At 9 p.m., on W. 93rd and Madison, an 18-year-old was shot in his wrist and thigh, police said. EMS took the man to MetroHealth for treatment.

Cleveland saw a similar spurt of violence between Wednesday and Thursday morning, when there were six shootings in four hours.
