60-Year-Old Man Found Shot To Death In Cleveland Apartment

Police were asked to check on the man after he stopped going to work.

CLEVELAND — A 60-year-old man was found shot to death inside his apartment building on Friday, Cleveland police announced.

At 4:20 p.m., officers were asked to do a wellness check at an apartment on Superior Avenue. When they arrived, they found a 60-year-old man who had been shot multiple times. He was declared dead on the scene.

Detectives learned the man had not been heard from since March 18. When he stopped reporting to work, his supervisor contacted police and asked them to check on the man.

A maintenance employee at the apartment let police into the 60-year-old's apartment.

Members of the Cleveland police homicide unit have taken over the investigation. No arrests have yet been made.
