65-Year-Old Pedestrian Dead After Being Hit By Car In Cleveland

Police said the man was hit by a car while trying to cross Superior Avenue.

CLEVELAND — A 65-year-old man was killed when he was hit by a car while trying to cross the street, Cleveland police announced.

The man was hit by a car at 10:15 p.m. on Sunday. He was trying to cross Superior Avenue when he was hit by a car. Police said the man was not in a crosswalk and did wait to use any stop lights before crossing.

After the man was hit by the car, the driver pulled over and stayed with the man until EMS and police arrived.

The man was then taken to University Hospitals. He died Monday from his injuries, police said.

On Tuesday morning, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office identified the pedestrian as Floyd Dawson, 65, of Cleveland.
