$7,500 Reward For Info Leading To Jeep That Hit Cleveland Cop

Crimestoppers is offering up to $7,500 for information that leads investigators to the Jeep Compass that hit a cop on Saturday morning.

CLEVELAND — Crimestoppers is offering up to $7,500 for information that leads investigators to the driver of a Jeep Compass that hit a Cleveland police officer on Saturday morning. The officer suffered multiple broken ribs in the crash, police said.

The collision happened at about 4 a.m. at West 9th and West Superior Avenue, a Cleveland police spokesperson said in an emailed statement. After hitting the officer, the vehicle drove off, leaving the officer with his injuries.

After being hospitalized over the weekend, the officer was released, but has since been re-admitted to the hospital, a Cleveland police spokesperson said.

The vehicle that hit the officer is believed to be a 2019 white Jeep Compass. Police believe the vehicle likely has heavy damage to its front end.
