70-Year-Old Carjacked At Gunpoint In Cleveland, Police Say
Video footage of the incident has been released to the public. Investigators hope someone will be able to identify the suspect.
CLEVELAND — A 70-year-old woman was carjacked at gunpoint on Valentine's Day, Cleveland Police announced. Video footage of the incident and an image of the suspected carjacker are being released to the public.
At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 14, the woman left her apartment building, on E. 156th Street, to brush snow off her Kia Forte. She started her vehicle and then got out to clean off the windshield. While scraping snow and ice off the car, the suspect approached her.
First, he asked if she could let him into her apartment building. She said she couldn't and then tried to get into her car.

Before she got into the vehicle, the man ran over to her, pulled out a gun and told her to give him the car. He pointed the gun at her head, got her out of the vehicle, and then drove off.

The man was last seen going west on Lakeshore, according to police reports. The woman's purse, containing her I.D. and credit cards was inside the car.
The suspect is a black male in his 20s, the woman told police. He weighed approximately 185 pounds. Video footage and a photograph of the suspect are above this article.
