🌱 751 Cleveland Clinic Staff On Leave + Marijuana For Autism

Here are the top three stories in Cleveland today:

  1. On Friday, the Cleveland Clinic officially placed 751 workers on unpaid leave after failing to comply with the hospital's vaccine mandate deadline. Employees and others who serve inside hospital doors were required to have received their first COVID-19 vaccine dose by Thursday, Jan. 27; a second dose must be received by Feb. 28. As of the deadline, 99% of the clinic's employees have complied with the mandate. (News 5 Cleveland)
  2. A new bill legalizing medical marijuana for autism recently passed in the state of Ohio's health committee. The bill HB60, three years in the making, would add autism as a qualifying condition to receive medical cannabis in Ohio. It's scheduled to go up for a vote in the House next week. (News 5 Cleveland)
  3. Early Friday morning, a 40-year-old man was shot and killed in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood of Cleveland. When officers and emergency personnel arrived for calls of a shooting at 2:00 a.m., Cleveland resident Robert Walker was found inside a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The Cleveland Police Homicide Unit will continue its investigation into the incident. (Cleveland 19 News)
