77-Year-Old Man Robbed At Cleveland Gas Station

Police have released video footage of the incident and are hoping the public can ID the suspect.

CLEVELAND — On Tuesday morning, a 77-year-old man was robbed while at a gas station in Cleveland. Police have obtained video footage of the theft and are asking the public for help identifying the suspect.

The robbery happened at 11:20 a.m. on March 13. After pumping gas, the 77-year-old went into the Giant America Gas Station, on E. 152nd Street, to pay for his fuel.

While the 77-year-old stood in line for the cashier, the suspect came into the gas station. Without the 77-year-old realizing it, the suspect reached into his pants pocket and stole his money clip, with $350 inside.

The suspect left the store and got into a blue Ford Escape. The car was seen pulling out of the gas station and went east onto Sarnac Road.

The suspect appears to be a young black man, approximately 20 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with curly hair. He was wearing white sneakers, faded blue jeans, and a white long sleeve shirt.

The gas station provided surveillance footage of the incident to police. That footage is above this article.
