CLEVELAND — Another 5 inches of snow could fall in parts of Northeast Ohio throughout Thursday and Friday morning, the National Weather Service forecast. Temperatures will then plummet into the low 20s and teens.

During the day on Thursday, 1 to 2 inches of snow could fall. Overnight, into Friday morning, an additional 3 inches of snow is possible.

"Snow squalls are possible this afternoon and evening as an arctic front moves southeast across the area. Affected locations could see rapidly changing weather and road conditions with brief heavy snow and gusty winds. A quick snow accumulation up to 1 to 2 inches is possible," the National Weather Service warned.

The snow showers should stop on Friday, when temperatures are unlikely to rise past 20 degrees. Valentine's Day will require a thick coat and several layers. Hopefully the power of love keeps people warm.

Temperatures will climb back into the mid-30s and low-40s by Saturday. Snow is unlikely throughout the weekend, though rain is possible on Monday and Tuesday.
