Here are the top stories today in Cleveland:
- If you recently got a letter from the Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council (NOPEC), you've most likely been automatically opted into taking on the company as your natural gas provider. The aggregation was made possible because of Ohio law passed 20 years ago. Residents who wish to opt-out of the NOPEC service have until Dec. 13 to do so. (News 5 Cleveland)
- East Cleveland police announced an arrest in the death of a woman whose body was found at Hastings Park earlier this week. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner said that 28-year-old Kalyn Moore was killed by a gunshot wound to the head. On Wednesday night, police arrested Lexx Zaveir Meeks, who was shown smiling in his booking photo. (WJW FOX 8 News Cleveland)
- Cleveland fire crews battled a blaze in the North Broadway neighborhood. (Cleveland 19 News)
- Construction on I-271 and I-71 near Fairmount Boulevard and Whitney Road will begin Monday. (Cleveland Patch)
