Armond Johnson Indicted For Murders In Slavic Village

The indictment against Johnson includes specifications for capital punishment.

CLEVELAND — Armond Johnson has been accused of murdering four people, including his 6-year-old son. The indictment against him includes specifications for capital punishment.

“Armond Johnson brutally murdered four people including his own son,” said Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley. “His callous actions demand that he face the ultimate punishment.”

Johnson is accused of killing David Cousin, 35, Takeyra Collins, 25, Armond Johnson Jr., 6, and Aubree Stone, 2. All four people were found dead in Cleveland's Slavic Village neighborhood on July 8.

According to the indictment, Johnson shot and killed Collins inside her home and then set her house on fire. He then ran off, but returned the next morning and shot Collins' neighbor, Cousin, in a field next to his house, the indictment said.

The two children, Stone and Johnson Jr., died as a result of the fire, the Prosecutor's Office said.

Johnson has been indicted on the following charges:

  • 14 counts of Aggravated Murder
  • 4 counts of Aggravated Arson
  • 2 counts of Aggravated Burglary
  • 2 counts of Endangering Children
  • 2 counts of Having Weapons Under Disability
  • 1 count of Kidnapping
  • 1 count of Tampering With Evidence

Johnson will be arraigned on Thursday, July 25 at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center.
