Arresting Songs: Police Lip-Sync Challenge Comes To Ohio
It was a matter of time before this social media sensation made its way to the Buckeye State. And the results have been must-see.
MIDDLETOWN, OH -- For weeks and weeks, police departments across the country have been making elaborate lip-sync videos, mouthing along to the words of their favorite songs. The results get posted to social media for the public and their brothers in blue to enjoy. And the so-called Lip-Sync Challenge has finally made its way to Ohio.
The Middletown Police Department is the latest crew to produce a mic-drop inducing, tongue-in-cheek lip-sync. Middletown used Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now" and the results are...spectacular.
The video opens with an officer mourning the lack of donuts left in a box in her squad car. Gradually the video expands its focus, showing the audience a bevy of officers (in uniforms or suits) each bemoaning the lack of delicious morning food.

For Middletown residents, the donuts (or lack thereof) came from Central Pastry and Milton's Donuts .
"You really didn’t think we were going to sit back and not participate in the #lipsyncchallenge did ya? There are some good ones out there so we needed to 'BRING IT'," the Middlefield Police wrote on Facebook. "We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it. As for anyone complaining about tax dollars at work, each employee took literally 30 minutes or under to do this, most came in on their own time."

The department added that in today's frequently "messed up world" this was an opportunity to bring a smile to the faces of residents and people throughout the state. Plus, it was an opportunity for Middletown to challenge their colleagues in Fairfield to produce their own lip-sync challenge video. No word on if the challenge has been accepted, but Patch will keep you updated.
