Body Of Missing 13-Year-Old Pulled From Lake Erie

The boy's body was found near Perkins Beach on Sunday afternoon. He had been missing since Friday.

CLEVELAND, OH — A body pulled from Lake Erie is that of Shaud Howell, a missing 13-year-old boy, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed to Patch. The teenager went missing on Friday night near Edgewater Beach.

Crews had been searching for the boy throughout the weekend, WKYC reported. On Sunday, a caller reported a body on Perkins Beach, part of the larger Edgewater Park. The body was pulled from Lake Erie at about 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Edgewater was briefly shut down over the weekend, while crews searched for the boy. Teams of rescuers used sonar technology to try and find the body on Saturday, but to no avail. Rescue efforts continue until Sunday afternoon.
