WATCH: LeBron James Announces Re-Signing With the Cavs
LeBron says he wants to "get the band back together."
CLEVELAND, OH — LeBron James made an announcement via video today that he will be re-signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers. James says that he couldn't be more excited to re-sign with his hometown team and get the opportunity to defend the Cavs' crown. (see video below)
"I'm re-signing back with the Cleveland Cavaliers, man, my hometown team, and I (couldn't) be more excited with this opportunity once again man, to defend our crown, defend our title," James said. "We all know last year was magical, inspiring, all the words you can come up with man. It was an unbelievable season. I just can't wait to get the group back together man, the team, the franchise, and more importantly get everybody together."
James agreed to a 3-year, $100 million contract reports USA Today, the terms of the deal are not yet final.
At the end of the video on @uninterupted, LeBron sent a message to Cavs owner, Dan Gilbert, saying, "Let's get J.R. done, it's that time."
