Broadway Avenue Bridge Over I-77 To Close For 9 Months

Construction will start March 2. A detour will be posted for drivers that typically use that route.

CLEVELAND, OH — The Broadway Avenue bridge over I-77 will be closed for nine months starting on March 2. Drivers will be detoured to Frontage Road, on the west side of I-77, during the reconstruction of the bridge.

Additionally, Gallup Ave. will be closed between Broadway and Lester avenues to facility the bridge reconstruction work. Motorists will be detoured via Broadway Ave., Pershing Ave., Track Rd. and Martin Ave.

This bridge reconstruction is part of a nearly $29 million project to move the Broadway entrance ramp to I-77 south, rebuild Broadway Ave, and create a new Frontage Road. The entire project is supposed to be done in Sept. 2019.

Work on Frontage Road began in the summer of 2017. Broadway Avenue's entrance ramp to I-77 south was closed during that time. The new Frontage Road provides Broadway Avenue drivers access to I-77 south.
