Browns May Face Returning Le'Veon Bell In Next Game With Steelers

Pittsburgh's star running back may end his hold out...just in time to play Cleveland. Joy.

CLEVELAND — New reports indicate the long holdout by star Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell could end just in time for the second match-up between Pittsburgh and the Cleveland Browns. That means Bell will miss four more weeks before coming back on October 28, ESPN reports.

The Steelers and Browns are currently tied for last place in the AFC North with matching records of 1-2-1. Pittsburgh's offense has been on the verge of self-combustion throughout the season, with tasty drama consuming Antonio Brown, an aging Ben Roethlisberger, and the rest of the squad. For Browns fans, it's been delightful to watch.

Bell's return could further stir the pot, or it could calm the boil. The running back hasn't yet signed his $14.5 million franchise tag, and isn't obligated to do so until Week 10 of the season. If Bell is truly targeting a Week 8 return to action, he'll likely sign the contract.

"It sucks having to sit out football," Bell told ESPN on Monday. "I want to play. I want to win games and the playoffs. But I've gotta take this stand. Knowing my worth and knowing I can tear a ligament or get surgery at any time, I knew I couldn't play 16 games with 400 or more touches."

Despite his stated intent to return, the Steelers still are considering dealing Bell to another team if a suitable trade partner can be found, ESPN reported.
