CLEVELAND — Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett has been reinstated by the NFL, the team announced on Wednesday. Garrett was suspended after he swung a helmet at another player during a mid-November game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"We welcome Myles back to our organization with open arms," said new Browns general manager Andrew Berry in a statement. "We know he is grateful to be reinstated, eager to put the past behind him and continue to evolve and grow as a leader."

On Nov. 15, in the waning seconds of a victory over the Steelers, Garrett and Pittsburgh quarterback Mason Rudolph got into a scuffle. During the fracas, Garrett ripped off Rudolph's helmet and hit him over the head with it. The NFL acted quickly, suspending Garrett indefinitely. He missed the final six games of the regular season. Cleveland finished the season 6-10.

Garrett played in 10 games in 2019, recording 10 sacks and 29 tackles, according to Pro Football Reference. He likely would have made the Pro Bowl, if not for the suspension.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell met with Garrett earlier this week to discuss the suspension.
