Browns Rain On Their Own Parade With First Win of the Season

The Cleveland Browns get their first win of the season to cancel the Perfect Season 0-16 parade and a win for the Cleveland Food Bank.

CLEVELAND, OH — The Cleveland Browns will not go 0-16 this season, the San Diego Chargers gave the Browns their first win in the 16th week of the season. Winning the game probably boosted morale a bit and it also helped the hapless Browns avoid the humiliating "Perfect Season 0-16 Parade" planned for Jan. 7.

The win came courtesy of Browns defensive end Jamie Meder blocking a San Diego field goal attempt which would have tied the game in the fourth quarter. The Chargers had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds but missed another field goal attempt.

Some were looking forward to the Perfect Season 0-16 Parade including Late Show host Stephen Colbert, however, other were not including outspoken Cleveland talk radio host, Tony Rizzo. The good news is that funds already generated for the parade — over $5,200, will now be donated to the Cleveland Food Bank. A real win-win.

With regards to the parade — there's always next year.
