Buzzer-Beater Gives Cleveland Cavaliers Win Over Pacers

Larry Nance Jr. tipped in a missed shot with no-time remaining to seal the comeback victory.

CLEVELAND — Wins have been hard to come by this year for the Cleveland Cavaliers. With a record of 8-23, it's important to savor the few victories the team secures and few will be sweeter than Tuesday night's win over the Indiana Pacers.

As time drained away on Tuesday night, the Cavaliers down 1 point with seconds remaining, Rodney Hood sliced into the lane, got his feet into the paint, planted, and launched a mid-range jumper.

The shot hit the back of the rim and rolled left and into the air. Before the ball could hit the court, Larry Nance Jr.'s right hand flew skyward and tapped it up and...in! The red light on the backboard, indicating time has expired, glowed brightly.

Teammates mobbed Nance, celebrating a win over a team that dragged the LeBron-led Cavs to a seven-game series in the playoffs last year. With LeBron gone, Cleveland has struggled mightily. Still, Nance has been a bright spot and is quietly developing into one of the best passing big men in the Eastern Conference. On Tuesday night he had 15 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block. That's a great night.
