Exploring Sculpture in Oberlin: Studio Visit, Bunch & Museum Tour

The day of sculpture begins with a special studio visit with Assistant Professor of Studio Art Ling-lin Ku at Oberlin College, where she will share insights behind the concepts, processes and materials behind her exhibition Morning After, currently on view at The Sculpture Center. The conversation continues over brunch at the 1833 Restaurant with the artist and Sam Adams, Ellen Johnson ’33 Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Allen Memorial Art Museum. The afternoon culminates with a guided tour of June Leaf: Shooting from the Heart at the museum, led by Adams.

About Ling-lin Ku:

Ling-lin Ku is a Taiwanese-born multimedia artist and educator whose sculptural and installation works explore the intersection of the digital and the tangible. Known for her playful yet conceptually rigorous practice, she uses digital fabrication and everyday materials to transform familiar objects into surreal, thought-provoking forms. Ku currently serves as Assistant Professor of Studio Art at Oberlin College and Conservatory.

About Sam Adams:

Sam Adams is an American art curator and scholar specializing in modern and contemporary art. He serves as the Ellen Johnson ’33 Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Allen Memorial Art Museum, where he oversees acquisitions, exhibitions, and scholarship on postwar and 21st-century art. His work connects academic inquiry with museum practice in one of the leading college art museums in the United States.
