NAMIWalks promotes awareness of mental health, reduces stigma, builds community, and lets people know they are not alone.
This year's event is on Saturday, September 19, at Edgewater Park, running from 9 am – 11:30 am. NAMIWalks Greater Cleveland 2026 has two goals: 1) Raise $185,000 to underwrite NAMI Greater Cleveland's free mental health support and education programs, and 2) have 1,475 registered participants. This year’s theme is Together We Are NAMIWalk. This family-friendly event includes a 2.5-mile walk, a resource fair, refreshments, music, line dancing, and children's activities (face painting, crafts, & balloon sculpture).
Funds raised through NAMIWalks allow NAMI Greater Cleveland to provide free resources such as education, support, referrals, and advocacy for people affected by mental illness. These resources, along with medical protocols, allow both peers and their family members to take the next step on their mental health journeys. With education, support, and information, they begin to understand diagnoses and treatments, learn new communication skills, identify community resources, and realize they are not alone. For many, our services lead to a path where they can gain resilience, gather strength, and summon the courage to overcome what they once perceived as insurmountable obstacles.
