Cedar Point To Reopen With New Health Guidelines, Masks Required

Visitors will have to make a reservation to get into the amusement park.

SANDUSKY, OH — Cedar Point will reopen in July. Visitors will have to obey a protocol of new, stringent health and safety guidelines to gain admission to the park.

“The safety of all of our guests and associates has always been, and will always be our top priority. We’re looking forward to returning to summertime fun in a safe and healthy manner,” said Jason McClure, general manager of Cedar Point. “We’ve implemented new safety protocols throughout the property that align with the recommendations of health and safety experts. With that guidance, we’re ready and excited to welcome our guests and associates back to Cedar Point.”

The amusement park will reopen in phases:

  • July 9 – 10: park open to 2020 Cedar Point Season, Gold and Platinum Passholders only
  • Beginning July 11: park open to Cedar Point Resorts guests and 2020 Cedar Point Season, Gold and Platinum Passholders
  • June 12-27: Cedar Point’s Hotel Breakers and Lighthouse Point RV sites will be open June 12 – 27, prior to Cedar Point’s opening

Here's are the new health and safety protocols guests will have to follow:

  • Reservations — Guests will have to book their visit to Cedar Point in advance. This will allow park managers to control how many people are inside the park at any given time. Reservations can be made through the Cedar Point mobile app or at cedarpoint.com
  • Health Screening — All visitors will have to complete a health screening inside the Cedar Point mobile app 24 hours before they visit the park
  • Temperature Screening — Before getting into the park, all visitors will have their temperature taken
  • Face Coverings — All visitors and employees will be required to wear face masks
  • Social Distancing — Signage posted around the park will reminding guests to maintain 6 feet of distance between themselves and another person
