Cleveland Area Could Feel Irma's Wrath Wednesday
As the historic storm prepares to unleash its destruction on Florida, forecasters are charting will it will trek after that.

CLEVELAND, OH - Hurricane Irma is preparing to deliver a devastating and potentially catastrophic punch to Florida, and the storm could affect Cleveland and northeastern Ohio early next week.
Pennsylvania-based AccuWeather's early projections show the hurricane’s remnants could move over the area Tuesday, with the storm centered roughly over the Cleveland area by Wednesday morning.
While it’s too early to tell how much rain or wind the area could get, AccuWeather predicts there will be some impact from the hurricane.

The last hurricane to significantly impact the northeastern Ohio was Sandy in September 2012. The area suffered extensive tree damage, downed power lines that left 250,000 people in the dark and significant Cuyahoga River flooding.
