Cleveland Birthday Party Shooting: 2 Dead, 1 Hurt

During a large birthday party, an argument broke out and gunshots soon followed.

CLEVELAND — Two people were killed in a Saturday shooting in Cleveland.

At 4:50 a.m., police were sent to a home on Grandview Avenue. Callers said gunshots had been heard at the house and a person appeared to be hurt.

When officers arrived, they found a 35-year-old man in the driveway. He had been shot multiple times. Police gave him first aid until EMS arrived. The 35-year-old was pronounced dead in the driveway.

Police searched the house and found a 38-year-old man who had been shot multiple times. He was rushed to University Hospitals by EMS, but doctors later pronounced him dead.

Investigators later learned that a third person had been shot at the scene but had been driven to the Cleveland Clinic. He was transferred to University Hospitals, where he is still confined.

Police believe there was a birthday part at the Grandview house. Approximately 30 to 50 people were at the party. At some point the 35-year-old got into an argument with someone in the home and was told to leave.

The 35-year-old returned later, possibly with a gun, police said. Witnesses said they heard multiple gunshots. Police currently believe there were multiple shooters.

Two guns were found at or near the home.
