Cleveland Clinic Staffer Fired After Anti-Semitic Comments

CLEVELAND — A Cleveland Clinic staffer has been fired after anti-Semitic tweets she posted were publicized. In the social media posts, the staffer threatened to give Jewish people "the wrong meds."

The former employee was supervised resident Lara Kollab, the Cleveland Clinic confirmed. She worked for the hospital system between July and September of 2018.

"She is no longer working at Cleveland Clinic. In no way do these beliefs reflect those of our organization. We fully embrace diversity, inclusion and a culture of safety and respect across our entire health system," the Cleveland Clinic said in a statement.

The Canary Mission, a group that profiles anti-Semitic messages on social media, published a series of Tweets from Kollab. In 2012, for instance, she wrote that she would "purposely give all the yahood the wrong meds."

The Clinic said they were recently made aware of the Tweets. Kollab's social media accounts have been deactivated but several of her comments were made into screen shots and re-shared on social media.
