Here are the top stories today in Cleveland:

  1. Yesterday afternoon marked the Cleveland Indians' final home game under their current name. The team will continue to play its remaining six away games as the Indians, officially becoming the Cleveland Guardians sometime in 2022. The new name was selected after the franchise considered more than 1,200 options and got input from fans and community stakeholders. It is a nod to the Guardians of Traffic standing at either end of the Hope Memorial Bridge that crosses the Cuyahoga River and leads to downtown and Progressive Field. (WJW FOX 8 News Cleveland)
  2. Early in-person voting for the Nov. 2 general election will begin in Cuyahoga County at 8 a.m. Oct. 5. Ballots can be requested from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. Early voting hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Oct. 8 and will continue at the same time every weekday from Oct. 12 to 22. From Oct. 25 to 29, these hours will be extended to 7 p.m. Voting is also available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 30, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 31, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 1. (Cleveland Jewish News)
  3. Twenty-two breweries in the Greater Cleveland area will be raising a glass for a good cause today for Ohio Pint Day. (News 5 Cleveland)
  4. The former parking lots beneath the Veterans Memorial Bridge connecting downtown to Ohio City are closed until at least Halloween while crews work on Phase 1 of the Towpath Trailhead Extension. (News 5 Cleveland)
  5. Legendary singer-songwriter Bob Dylan will be taking his tour to Cleveland on Nov. 5 at the KeyBank State Theatre. (Cleveland Patch)
