Cleveland Indians Home Opener Set For April 6

The Tribe will start the season on the road against the Seattle Mariners.

CLEVELAND, OH — The Cleveland Indians 118th season in the American League will start March 29 with a road game against the Seattle Mariners. The Tribe's home opener will be played April 6 against divisional foe the Kansas City Royals.

The April 6 game will be the start of a 10-game homestand that will feature a three-game series against Kansas City, a four-game series against the Detroit Tigers and a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays.

After its homestand, the Indians will then make an unusual road trip. The team will head to San Juan, Puerto Rico where they will square off with another AL Central opponent, the Minnesota Twins. The two teams will play twice, on April 17 and April 18.

The Indians will have several summer weekend series including:

  • June 15- 17 vs. Minnesota Twins
  • June 22-24 vs. Detroit Tigers
  • July 6-8 vs. Oakland A's
  • July 13-15 vs. New York Yankees
  • Aug. 3-5 vs. Los Angeles Angels
  • Aug. 17-19 vs. Baltimore Orioles

The Tribe's interleague opponents for the season include the Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers, Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates.
