CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Indians made a bold move at the trade deadline, sending starting pitcher Trevor Bauer to the Cincinnati Reds as part of a three-team deal. The Tribe received outfielders Yasiel Puig, Franmil Reyes and pitchers Logan Allen and Scott Moss.

Puig and Reyes are the major prizes for the Tribe. The Indians are in a tight divisional race with the Minnesota Twins and desperately needed more power in their lineup. The Tribe are currently three games back from the division leader.

Bauer is 9-8 this season, with a 3.79 ERA. He has been one of the Tribe's best starting pitchers over the past two years. In 2018, he was an All-Star and came in sixth in Cy Young voting. He finished last year with a 12-6 record and an ERA of 2.21, according to Baseball-Reference.com.

However, Bauer's time in Cleveland was marked with controversy. In 2016, he sliced his hand with a drone, which caused him to miss crucial time in the ALCS. Then, last week, as manager Terry Francona came to pull him from a game with the Kansas City Royals, Bauer turned and launched the ball over the center field wall in frustration.

If Bauer's antics were a problem for the Tribe, they showed less concern for the previous antics of some of their new players, including Puig. Once a star for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Puig moved to Cincinnati and was hitting .252 on the year, with 22 home runs. Despite being a solid hitter, Puig became a source of constant consternation in Los Angeles for his Manny Ramirez-like lapses in concentration.

Reyes is another strong bat with a lot of pop, hitting .255 with 27 home runs. Both Reyes and Puig will be expected to add long-ball threats to the middle of the Indians' lineup.

Here's how the trade breaks down:

Cleveland receives: Yasiel Puig, Franmil Reyes, Scott Moss, Logan Allen, Victor Nova

Cincinnati receives: Trevor Bauer

Padres receive: Taylor Trammell (from Cincinnati)

What do you think? Did the Tribe make the right move in moving Bauer? Did they get enough in return for the pitcher?
