Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson's Grandson Charged With Assault

Frank Q. Jackson, 22, was indicted for felonious assault, abduction and failure to comply.

CLEVELAND — Mayor Frank Jackson's grandson has been accused of assaulting his girlfriend. Frank Q Jackson, 22, is now being held at Cuyahoga County Jail.

In early June, Jackson punched and strangled his girlfriend in the parking lot of a gas station, according to police reports. The girlfriend later told police she felt as if she was going to pass out, WKYC reported.

The assault was corroborated by witnesses, but city prosecutors declined to pursue the case. Police reports indicate the girlfriend did not want to press charges and prosecutors decided to honor her wishes.
