Cleveland Men Sold Fentanyl, Cocaine: DOJ

Two men are accused of trafficking heroin, fentanyl and other narcotics.

CLEVELAND — Two men have been accused of trafficking fentanyl, heroin, cocaine and other drugs in Northeast Ohio, the Department of Justice announced. Both men have a history of using guns to commit crimes.

Clayton Hall, 39, and Gregory Franklin, 42, are accused of working together to distribute 100 grams of a heroin and fentanyl mixture, and 500 grams of cocaine, between February 2019 and April 30, 2019. Both men are from Cleveland, the Department of Justice said.

According to an indictment against both men, Hall had fentanyl, cocaine, heroin and crack cocaine, and tried to move the narcotics, between 2018 and 2019. He was previously convicted of kidnapping and aggravated burglary with a firearm, the indictment said.

Franklin had fentanyl and cocaine on April 30, 2019, the indictment said. He also had a Taurus 9 mm semi-automatic pistol he used while selling the drugs, the indictment said. He was previously convicted of drug trafficking with a firearm, the indictment noted.

The duo were investigated by Cleveland police and the DEA.

Hall and Franklin were both indicted on one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances and additional drug charges. Franklin is also being charged with being possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
