Cleveland Nonprofits Receive $900K In Coronavirus Support
More than $900,000 has been awarded to 20 Cleveland-area organizations from the Greater Cleveland COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund.
CLEVELAND, OH – More than $900,000 has been awarded to 20 Cleveland-area organizations from the Greater Cleveland COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund, which supports nonprofits facing unprecedented challenges during the new coronavirus pandemic.
Several organizations received funds to provide emergency food assistance and shelter needs. Those organization include:
- Asian Services in Action, Inc.: $20,000
- Bellaire Puritas Development Corporation: $32,000
- Burten, Bell, Carr Development, Inc.: $65,000
- Front Steps Housing and Services: $75,000
- Greater Collinwood Development Corporation: $16,000
- Harvard Community Services Center: $40,000
- Lakewood Community Services Center: $34,000
- MidTown Cleveland: $30,000
- The Phillis Wheatley Association: $65,000
Two organizations received grants to purchase personal protective and infection control equipment. Salaam Clinic of Cleveland received $25,000 to purchase equipment and additional technology resources that will allow the clinic to resume operations and provide health care services to the uninsured and underinsured.

Greater Cleveland Neighborhood Centers Association received $85,000 to support the #Masks4Community project, which will distribute 33,000 kits in Cleveland neighborhoods that include a washable mask, safety outdoors coloring sheet, 2020 Census, Election/Voting and COVID-19 safety information.
Organizations that serve vulnerable populations received funds to offer shelter to domestic violence victims, meal delivery, medication and transportation support, and to upgrade existing technologies. Those organizations include:

- Long Term Care Ombudsmen: $13,000
- Paralyzed Veterans of America, Buckeye Chapter: $18,000
- Cleveland Rape Crisis Center: $90,000
- Ravenwood Mental Health Center: $15,000
- United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cleveland: $50,000
