Cleveland Police Involved In East Side Shooting
Police officials said an erratic driver accelerated towards officers standing on a curb, leading one of the officers to fire his gun.
CLEVELAND — Cleveland police fired on a car driving toward officers on Thursday morning, the department announced.
According to police, while officers were responding to a domestic violence call on E. 99th street, a silver four door vehicle was seen driving erratically. The officers followed the vehicle down a dead end street, but did not have their emergency lights or sirens on.
The officers got out of their cars to investigate when the vehicle stopped at the dead end, let a person out, and then turned around, hitting a parked vehicle. The vehicle then accelerated, hit one of the cop cars, backed up and drove into both cop cars, according to police.
