Clevelander Killed During Fireworks Shooting
Police said three men were shot when gunfire erupted while fireworks were being set off on Marah Avenue.

CLEVELAND, OH — Fireworks popped in the air, briefly mixing with the sound of gunshots on Marah Avenue on Wednesday. When the dust began to clear, a 25-year-old Cleveland man was dead, and two others were wounded.
Cleveland Police were at the scene of a motor vehicle accident at Woodhill and Lamontier on Wednesday night when a car pulled up and said that one of the people in the car had been shot. Officers immediately began providing care until EMS arrived.
While attending to the wounded man, police learned the shooting happened on Marah Avenue. A large group of people were blowing off fireworks in the street when gunfire erupted. Three people were shot.

A 25-year-old Cleveland man was found on Marah Avenue after EMS arrived and began caring for the wounded man in the car. The 25-year-old had a gunshot wound in his chest and died on the scene, police said.
The other two wounded men survived. A 35-year-old was shot in the left forearm and leg, and a 21-year-old was shot in the leg.

Police did not say there were any suspects at this time. Homicide detectives continue to investigate the incident.
