Clevelander Shot To Death, Left In The Street

Police are looking for two suspects that stood over the man's body before fleeing the scene. One of the men may have shot the victim.

CLEVELAND, OH — A 36-year-old man was shot to death Tuesday night on the city's east side. Police are currently looking for two suspects believed to be connected to the killing.

Police were called to the area of E. 28th St. and Cedar Rd. for reports of a man who had been shot. When officers arrived they found the 36-year-old laying in the street, unresponsive. The man had suffered a gunshot wound to his chest.

The man was conveyed to MetroHealth where he died from his injuries. Homicide was then called and responded to the scene. (To stay up to date on local stories, subscribe to the Patch Cleveland newsletter. As news breaks and the story develops, you will be the first to receive updates from Patch.)

Investigators learned the victim, Andre Block, was in an argument with an unidentified man. Both men were standing on the corner of E. 28th and Cedar. The argument ended with Block trying to run from the scene, heading south on Cedar. The other man pulled out a gun and fired multiple times in Block's direction. Block collapsed in the street.

The shooter and a second man then ran to Block, bent over his body, and exchanged an item of some kind, police say. Both men then fled the area, running south toward the Cedar Estates Courtyard.
