Cleveland's Civilian Police Review Board Needs Members
City Council is looking for three applicants to fill out the board. Members would review allegations of police misconduct.

CLEVELAND, OH - If you want to make your voice heard on what direction the Cleveland Police should be going, your opportunity is upon you. The Civilian Police Review Board needs to fill three seats and is accepting applications for members.
The board was established by voters in November's election. The makeup for the CPRB is this: nine members total, five appointed by Mayor Frank Jackson and four appointed by Cleveland City Council. The three open seats are available through Council.
The new positions will have four year terms and will begin Feb. 7, 2017. Applicants must live in the city of Cleveland. Council also prefers applicants to be between the ages of 18 and 30. Compensation for a board member is $7,200 a year. You cannot be employed by a law enforcement bureau and serve on this board.

“I’m gratified that voters approved the change which allows council, not just the mayor, to also make appointments to this important board,” said Councilman Matt Zone, chairman of the Council Safety Committee, in a statement.
The board is responsible for reviewing allegations of police misconduct, deadly force, and other matters requested by the director of public safety.
