Concierge Accused Of Burglarizing Residents In Bratenahl

Prosecutors said Anthony Djurovic waited till residents left their homes and then stole their jewelry.

BRATENAHL, OH — A former concierge at the Bratenahl Place condominiums has been indicted for stealing $200,000 worth of jewelry from residents, Cuyahoga County prosecutors announced. Anthony Djurovic, faces charges for burglary and theft.

A Cuyahoga County Grand Jury returned the indictment against Djurovic,27, this week. The thefts occurred between September 2019 and October 2019, according to the indictment.

“This defendant was hired to assist and protect the residents of Bratenahl Place,” said Prosecutor Michael O’Malley. “He violated and exploited that trust by committing multiple burglaries in their homes.”

Prosecutors said Djurovic got into four different apartments, when residents weren't home, and stole numerous pieces of jewelry. He and a co-defendant, James Rigby, then sold the jewelry to pawn shops, according to the indictment.

Rigby has also been charged with five counts of receiving stolen property.

Bratenahl police were asked to investigate the thefts and they took Djurovic into custody on October 11, at a residence on E. 61st and Carry Avenue. Rigby was taken into custody the same day, near E. 88th and I-90.

Both men are being held at the Cuyahoga County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
