Coronavirus: Cleveland Police Say To Report Minor Offenses Online
To help enforce social distancing protocols, the department is asking minor offenses be reported online or over the phone.
CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are asking the public to file reports online or over the phone for minor offenses. A department spokesperson said the policy change will help protect officers and will enforce social distancing protocols.
Cleveland police will available by phone from 7 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. daily. Reports can be filed online through the department's website.
If a resident decides to visit a Cleveland police district building, they should follow guidelines on social distancing. Any crimes involving violence, or the threat of violence, should be reported immediately by calling 911.

What is a minor offense? According to Cleveland police, here's what constitutes a minor offense:
- Property damage
- Petty theft
- Lost property
- Theft from a car
- Theft of a credit card
- Stolen car (if suspect is no longer there and you were not hurt or threatened)
- Telephone harassment
