Coronavirus In Ohio: 805 New Cases, 16 Deaths
Ohio's surge of new COVID-19 cases continued on Monday. More Ohioans are now entering the hospital due to the virus.
COLUMBUS, OH — Officials confirmed an uptick in hospitalizations and intensive care admissions related to COVID-19 on Monday, the state health department said.
Over the past 24 hours, there have been 805 new, confirmed cases of COVID-19. Over the past three weeks, Ohio has averaged 780 new COVID-19 cases per day.
At least 77 people were hospitalized in the past 24 hours because of the virus, the Ohio Department of Health said. Nineteen Ohioans were put in intensive care due to COVID-19, in the past day.

Deaths connected to COVID-19 are still trending below their three-week average. Gov. Mike DeWine and health officials have said deaths tend to lag behind surges in new cases and hospitalizations.

The Ohio Department of Health has not yet released data on how many tests were completed over the Independence Day weekend.
